The research is devoted to the analysis of the modern trends influencing the achievement of the key sustainable development goals, in particular SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) and SDG 13 (Climate Action). The aim of the study was to develop directions of increasing sustainability of food systems, especially in the segment of meat product production through introduction of the sustainable development principles and ESG practices. During the study, the following methods were used: development of a specialized questionnaire to assess the introduction of the ESG principles; expert monitoring of enterprises of the meat industry; analysis of the implementation of the sustainable development goals; assessment of the existing ESG practices. The results of the study include systematization of modern approaches to sustainable development in the meat industry, determination of the current state of introduction of ESG principles at enterprises; detection of the main barriers and challenges in introduction of the sustainable practices; formation of recommendations on an increase in efficiency of implementation of the sustainable development goals. The scientific novelty resides in the complex approach to assessment of food system sustainability with account for special features of the meat industry and current global challenges. Practical significance of the study consists in the opportunity of using the obtained results to improve management decisions in the sphere of sustainable development of meat industry enterprises as well as to develop strategies for enhancing their competitiveness in the conditions of the growing ecological and social responsibility of business. The results of the study can be useful to specialists in the area of food industry, representatives of governing bodies of the agro-industrial complex, researchers and everyone who is interested in the development of sustainable practices in the agro-industrial sector.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>В современных условиях обеспечение глобальной и национальной продовольственной безопасности становится приоритетной задачей, требующей комплексного подхода к развитию агропромышленного комплекса. Исследование посвящено анализу современных трендов и тенденций, влияющих на достижение ключевых целей устойчивого развития, в частности ЦУР 2 (ликвидация голода), ЦУР 3 (хорошее здоровье и благополучие), ЦУР 9 (индустриализация), ЦУР 12 (ответственное потребление) и ЦУР 13 (борьба с изменением климата). Целью исследования является определение направлений повышения устойчивости пищевых систем, особенно в сегменте производства мясной продукции, путем внедрения принципов устойчивого развития и ESG-практик. В рамках исследования были использованы следующие методы: разработка специализированной анкеты для оценки внедрения ESG-принципов; проведение экспертного мониторинга предприятий мясной промышленности; анализ реализации целей устойчивого развития; оценка существующих ESG-практик. Результаты исследования включают: систематизацию современных подходов к устойчивому развитию в мясной промышленности; выявление текущего состояния внедрения ESG-принципов на предприятиях; определение основных барьеров и проблем при внедрении устойчивых практик; формирование рекомендаций по повышению эффективности реализации целей устойчивого развития. Научная новизна работы заключается в комплексном подходе к оценке устойчивости пищевых систем с учетом специфики мясной промышленности и современных глобальных вызовов. Практическая значимость исследования состоит в возможности использования полученных результатов для совершенствования управленческих решений в сфере устойчивого развития предприятий мясной промышленности, а также для разработки стратегий повышения их конкурентоспособности в условиях растущей экологической и социальной ответственности бизнеса.
